Money can’t buy happiness… even in a world that begins with a Tiffany teething ring.
Sydney Ross has it made. As the 17-year old daughter of Illinois senator Randall Ross and socialite Jillian Ross, Sydney was born with perfect teeth and a killer trust-fund. Everything about her life is idyllic…the life of a princess. The Ross’ are richer than God and twice as beautiful, the picture-perfect All-American Family.
Except that it is all a lie.
After a positive pregnancy test, Sydney’s life unravels in the space of just one breath. Life as she knows it is over and survival itself begins to look questionable as life and death literally hang in the balance with each sordid twist that she is dealt.
After the shocking climax, Sydney is brought to her knees with one seething question Who in the world can she trust when no one is who they seem to be?
Caution This book is not set in a Mayberry kind of world nor is it a simple book about teen pregnancy. Princess is somewhat twisted and edgy. You might need to fan yourself during some parts and a box of tissues during others. It contains love, suspense, heartache and loss. Oh- and some adult themes and language, too.
About the author
Courtney Cole is a novelist who lives near Lake Michigan with her family (aka Zoo), pet iPad and favorite cashmere socks. Princess is her first venture into the contemporary fiction genre. She usually hangs out in paranormal worlds, as evidenced by her Bloodstone and Moonstone Sagas.

There may be slight spoilers in here but nothing that will ruin the story for you IF you chose to read it.Ive had this book on my Kindle for some time before I actually decided to read it.That being said I couldnt even remeber what it was supposed to be about.I remembered the Author name and Cover.Thought that was a good sign ... usually is for me anyways so I dove in.
Well its certainly not your typical YA/NA read these days. And its also not very original, well parts of it are but again there is so much going on that none of it is original Ive just never seen it all packed in a book.
Spoiled teenager who gets pregnant. Her and her boyfriends parents are disgusted and order her to terminate it,but she refuses. Instead she runs away with nothing but the money in her pocket and the clothes she managed to stuff in a bag. The only person she has is a distant cousin whom she has only talked to on a social networking site, she stays with him and starts a whole new life.
So starts Sydneys new life as a 17 year old pregnant Teenager living in a city that NOBODY recognises her even though her dad is Illinois senator Randall Ross. This was for me Unbelievable but okay I kept with the book even though by this time I was already questioning why I was still reading it...
Next we learn she and this distant relative are, well they have feelings for each other and soon after that they are in a relationship. We dont really learn much here other than they are some how distant relatives.so I guess its ok they have a relationship...Honestly I dont know about you all but Family is Family no matter how distant!
Then we move on a bit more to the next "twist" in the story line.Sydney is 6 months or so (im guessing I really dont remember because it doesnt last long) along now and working a crappy Job.Said relative/boyfriend? is a aspiring artist so he has no real income either. They dont have much but they have a roof over their heads and thats more than she could have asked for so Sydney is happy. One day sydney decides she wants a treat and heads down to the gas station down the block On the way er Ex boyfriend calls her cell hone, something nobody has done in a very long time. anyways on with this so Sydney gets her "treat" slushy I believe it was. but little does she know that before she even gets a taste her life will be forever changed..
And Now we are on to the next part of the story line.
At this point Im just amusing myself and reading to see just how ridiculous this story can get.Ive had a few laughs and a few didnt see that coming and a few totally saw that coming moments...
From this point on things take a huge twist and were just so crazy with what all happens.
It basically goes from what started out as a YA Romance to a Crime mystery Suspense Thriller.
After the shocking climax, Sydney is brought to her knees with one seething question: Who in the world can she trust when no one is who they seem to be?
I could keep going and just how B movie this story turned into but Ill stop now I think my point has been made.
Overall it has its moments but so much of what happens was really unnecessary. Its certainly delivered on the "Didnt see that coming" ending but that too was a bit over the top and drawn out. That was really my biggest Issue with this book everything was over dramatic, unnecessary and unbelievable. At some points to Unrealistic to be believeable.

Princess The American Princess Series Book 1 edition by Courtney Cole Romance eBooks Reviews
Princess by Courtney Cole is a crazy, dramatic, and suspenseful novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will find some romance throughout the novel, but don't let the cover fool you...this book isn't about some spoiled rich girl with an easy life. Sydney Ross goes through multiple traumatic challenges in this novel.
I can't say too much about Princess because I don't want to give anything away. Just note that I found myself really immersed in this novel. It was exciting, scary and twisted. I thought it was a very quick, fun read. It is not, however, a very realistic novel. You have a bunch of crazy coming at you from all directions. So if you are looking for something realistic then this isn't your pick. If you are looking for a thrilling, dangerous novel to get lost in then this is a great choice.
I gave Princess by Courtney Cole 4 STARS. I recommend this novel to older young adults.

Princess was a purchase bought `sight unseen' so to speak. I didn't read a synopsis or even a review because I'm familiar with the author's work enough to feel confident in what I was buying and boy, oh boy, did I end up loving this book. It was nothing like I expected it to be, the cover revealing only a sliver of who the main character, Sydney, truly is.
The novel's bold subjects left me reeling with every page I turned. Cole's gutsy directions made this one of the best reads I've had all year. Her characters are well thought out and contain true depth, something that's void in a lot of young adult novels nowadays.
Sydney's seemingly picture perfect life comes to an unexpected halt as constant tumultuous life-altering and sometimes life-shattering experiences bombard her at an exponential rate. The reader is left heartbroken, desperate and sad for the character as her life unfolds and unravels.
But Sydney finds herself amongst the tragedies uncoiling around her, finds hope in the people she loves, finds truth in those who genuinely love her and we are left with a stronger, more hopeful, and even more incredible Sydney then we started out with.
Sydney is one of my favorite heroines I've read all year. She is strong enough to stand alone but chooses stand side by side with one of my favorite heroes I've read all year as well. I highly recommend this read. Of course, as Cole mentions, it is recommended for older teens and younger women but the lessons learned in this harrowing yet hopeful tale are lessons worth learning. Five stars truly earned.
Congrats miss Cole, I'm very impressed.
Sure "Princess," is amazing, it has a great story that kept me awake all night long. The characters are believable, loved and even hated; that is because Courtney Cole sure can write one evil character that is actually believable. That is if you are an addict like me of true crime books and tv shows like Special Victims Unit. However, if you aren't' a fan of these there are some things about this book that might just bug you a little bit. For example, the book does just a little slow in parts. The one part that was really slow was the ending of the story when the characters are finally facing their foes. With how many people she had in the scene it is acceptable for what she had to do to a majority of them, the characters that were presented in this scene actions felt a little forced and dull. Don't worry the book as a whole was really amazing and I would recommend to my friends if any of them had a kindle. I'm hoping to at least convince some to download the app for their computers or phones in order to read this book since it's free. Even though I hope the author realizes the book she has here can easily be put for seven or even ten dollars and it would still probably be very popular.
Please let it be known when I bought this book it was 99 cents.
